I’m releasing a story for the Christmas season. You can find Shylight on Amazon Kindle. Here is the link: Shylight
The story asks the question: What does Christmas look like in Heaven?
Many of you are aware that my niece, Charlotte Ava McManimon, was born with a rare heart defect, and died at just five months of age. Her passing was incredibly difficult for the family, but it was also a time of great joy, because of the deep sense of God’s presence through her suffering, and in her departure. We rested on the promise that to be absent from the body was to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).
Knowing that she was in Heaven didn’t take away any of the grief. We hurt deeply as a family. But our grief was interwoven with an intense sense of peace and joy, knowing that her suffering was over, and her eternal future was secure in the hands of Jesus.
Around Christmas, the following year, I sat down with the thought of what her experience of Christmas might be like in the presence of Jesus, the very reason for the celebration.
At first, the story was just for family. Now, I’d like to share it with a wider audience. For those who have lost someone close, for those who have wondered what Christmas looked like from the other side of the veil, or for those who are just happy to read about Christmas in any form, Shylight may be for you.
It’s a short read. It’s a joyful story. It’ll cost you all of 99 cents on Amazon. If you like it, tell a friend. If you really like it, review it on Amazon.
